Carpenter came to house and essentially built a frame for an arch in 2 hours. I assisted and had all the supplies, but now way I could have done it in 2 let alone 8 hours. Well worth the money and greatly appreciated.

Don Burns was the best Contractor we could have ever hoped for. He was not only on the spot with estimates, but worked to uncover items missed on our plans. My wife choose him from his Ethical and moral standpoint. He was very pro active and had great advice with all, and had excellent communications with us. It was easy to trust him and his team's performance was the best

Excellent and we highly recommend Mike. Mike is reliable, trustworthy and has excellent attention to detail. We have used Mike on various large and small projects over the past several years. Additionally, we had Mike watch our house when we went home to Michigan in the summers and over the holidays for the past 9 years. Mike always does more than a typical house watch service. He kept the patios cleaned, the bushes trimmed, and fixed anything that needed repair so when we arrived for the season we weren’t doing work around the house. One of the other things we really appreciate about Mike is his ability to brainstorm good solutions to unusual problems that arose over the years. We are hoping to fly Mike to Michigan to work on our house up here, that’s how much we trust him. Mike is highly recommended

CHAMPION BUILT CONTRACTING

Very well, we are very pleased with the end result. Joe Jenkins reviewed our plan and made sure it was sound. He went through very detail and contingency with us prior to quoting. He secured HOA approval, all permits and work started the day and time he stated. When a city inspector stopped the work due to permit issue with his own city office, Joe worked through the problem and got us the permit variance needed. Work took about two weeks, work crews arrived promptly at 7 AM and left at 4 PM; they always cleaned the site before leaving for the day. There was no confusion from his crew on what, or how, they should build the structure. Joe was at the site at least twice a day and answered any questions or concerns. Other than the permit issue, which was the city's fault, the build went without a hitch

Sebastion went through the list of jobs to be competed in two days with me before starting and introduced me to Preston who worked two days and Wayne who worked one of the days. They immediately got to work. They were professional, and completed the items in a timely manner. They cleaned up the area they worked on. Preston was able to remove the top garage frame which was water damaged without affecting the side frames. He good the wood for the top frame, caulked the area above the frame to protect the wood and painted the entire frame. He painted above the frame with paint that matched the stucco. He was pleasant and seem to take pride in his work. I would hire them again

Alex showed up on time for both the estimate and the actual work. He gave me the list of materials (wood) needed for the project, including the specific types of wood to avoid. The work was very well done. I was a little disappointed that he did not clean up the saw dust around the doors (I was, however, sweeping out the garage and he may have thought I was going to do the clean-up of the saw dust.

BUILDER HIRED THIS COMPANY TO FRAME OUR HOUSE. THE QUALITY OF THE FRAMING IS VERY POOR. WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE ONE WALL RIPPED OUT BECAUSE IT WAS SO CROOKED. ALL THE DOOR FRAMES ARE NOT EVEN OR PLUMB. FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION, I WOULDN'T EVEN THINK OF THIS COMPANY. THE OWNER IS VERY NICE, WHEN YOU CAN GET HOLD OF HIM, BUT HE WILL NOT RETURN CALLS

They left half-ripped out a wire that was wasn't supposed to be ripped out, then left it hanging and in the way and never bothered to put it back up. They painted the gate and didn't bother adjusting anthing and so it's new paint with the old paint still where they didn't bother to move the gate mechanism. They also charged $1,600 for removing a lattice piece because they could write it off to the HOA. They charge lots of money and deliver horrible quality. I wouldn't ever trust this company to do any work anywhere. This company goes in the list of rip off

One of the great things about Handyman Connection: They tell you exactly how much the *labor* will cost. They can do estimates for the materials, which we requested. But the point is that they do not mark up materials. At all. Contractors sometimes charge up to 30% over cost. With these guys you know exactly how much you're paying for labor, rather than a set amount that contains an unknown markup on materials. This system also meant that we were able to use a discounted gift card we bought when our guy went to Home Depot. The savings were small, but every bit helps, right? They were able to schedule an appointment quickly. Bob came out on time for both the initial inspection and the actual work. He was very personable. He noticed that we were nervous about money. (I'm the only one who works.) So he suggested Bagster rather than pay his hourly fee (and the dump fees) to have him drive the materials to the dump. I'm pretty sure the company gets a discount, so we only paid about $120 for the bag and pick-up. They gave me an 8-8:30 a.m. window for Bob to come start the repairs. He called the day before to confirm that he would be there around 8:20. The work was done in two days, as promised. (We had an appraiser due out two days later, so we were nervous.) He was even able to return a few materials, so we were able to recoup about $15. These guys are great, and I already have my eye on some more projects I'll be calling them for

Rodolfo and his team of specialists were as good as you could hope for! The challenge was to coordinate the various steps with the Tempe safety building inspector. First we needed to break the concrete floor to route a drain for the new sink, toilet and shower. Then after that passed inspection a new wall was framed to house the bathroom and the kitchen was framed to change the entry and make a breakfast bar. Next the wiring and duct work were done all in accordance with city code which then passed inspection. After that drywall was installed and right after that the tile work was done in the bath. Rather than install a prefab shower which sometimes crack and leaks we wanted a concrete bottom tiled surface and a tiles installed floor to ceiling. The final step was trim and painting then passing the final city inspection. The finished product was perfect and was obviously done by a professional. Rodolfo was communicating on an almost daily basis for this 6 week project. He was always a phone call away and answered within 2 rings. He was so knowledgable about how to do framing, plumbing, electrical and any other aspect of remodeling and had good insight into what the inspectors look for. He and his team were very pleasant and patient. If you need to do a remodel of any type get a few estimates first then call Rodolfo since he is the one you will want to do the job.Ron K

Chris was VERY busy so we did have to wait several weeks, but his crew did a great job. It looks terrific and the work workmanship was excellent. Although the Angie's List deal was a day of carpentry for $300, we received a $300 discount on the project, which is far less than a day of carpentry would cost. Of course the cost needed to include materials and the second craftsman. But the service was good and we are pleased with the final product

Patterson Remodeling & Custom Tile

We just remodeled our home and for a construction company to be that prompt was amazing. It was a good experience. I didn't want to have plain tile because it's just boring and the salesman suggested that we try a pattern with large and small tile and everybody that walks in the house tells us it looks amazing. It took them about six days to finish the whole job. What impressed about them was that they were suppose to be here at 9:00 and called us at 8:30 telling us that they were stuck in traffic and may not be able to make it on time and they still made it before 9:00 despite the call. I was happy with the price and they did a fabulous job. At one point they ran out of tile and the guys who were laying the tile called the salesman and he had one of his guys go to the tile place and buy some and deliver it within a couple of hours. They didn't waste any time. I'm going to use them again to run the stereo wire through the ceiling of the first floor

Carpenters provide a wide range of services that span across many different parts of the home. Knowing what role carpenters play will make it easier to budget and to find the right person for the job.

How much does hiring a carpenter near me cost?

Most homeowners pay between $250 to $500 for the services of a carpenter.

If charging by the hour, expect to pay $35 to $100 per hour. Factors that will affect the overall cost include the following:

Does labor come into play?

Labor costs charged by the hour or at a fixed rate depending in the value of the project.

What about tools and materials?

A carpenter near you will factor in the materials needed for your project. You mayhave to purchase all required materials, while the carpenter will typically provide their own tools.

Does the homeowner need to do anything for worksite preparation?

If your worksite is difficult to access or it makes the carpenter’s work harder, carpenters may charge more or spend more time on the job.

There are typically three types of carpenters.

  • Rough carpenters: offer structural related work such as framing a house, building outdoor structures, or installing features in the home.
  • Finish carpenters: focus on more specific tasks such as doors, furniture, and windows.
  • Repairers: carry out general repairs to structures around the home.

Why hire a carpenter near me?

Their widespread roles and abilities make any project within the home much easier to carry out. If you’re building a new structure, they construct the outer frame and ensure that it’s structurally sound. They also carry out smaller-scale repairs to various objects around the home. Make sure you work with a carpenter near you who has experience and is friendly to customers.
